Baxter Brothers, Cinemad Presents launch distribution partnership

Screen Daily
11 September 2011

The micro independent distributors will distribute features and documentaries in theatres, museums, universities festivals 'and any other venue that can project images on a screen.'

The companies said they aimed to co-release 10 to 12 films to theatres and alternative venues in 2012. In certain cases Baxter Brothers will work with filmmakers on additional platforms including DVD, VOD, television and digital.

Baxter and Cinemad currently have Summer Pasture in release, which played in New York at the Maysles Cinema and Washington DC at the West End Cinema and will open shortly in Los Angeles at the Laemmle Music Hall 3.

They are currently setting dates for Jess + Moss and The Oregonian, both of which launched at Sundance earlier this year.

Theresa-Jayne Hanlon produced and Dannielle Hall, Damian Pitt and Jenna Lee Connors star.

Sorry, Thanks features Wiley Wiggins, Kenya Miles and Andrew Bujalski and centres on a woman on the rebound who hooks up with a man of dubious character who is already in a long-term relationship.
